FREEPORT, Texas (ICIS)--Texas had competed with Louisiana to be the home of Dow Chemical's new cracker, Texas Governor Rick Perry said on Thursday.
"Louisiana is always going to be a competitor when it comes to the petrochemical industry," Perry said. He made his comments after a presentation in which he and Dow discussed the cracker being built in Freeport, Texas.
As part of the deal, Dow will receive $1m (€760,000) through the state's Texas Enterprise Fund.
