China’s Shanghai Wujing resumes acetic acid production in Wujing

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shanghai Wujing has resumed its total daily output of acetic acid to pre-turnaround levels of around 1,500 tonnes/day by the week ended 20 April after it restarted one of its plants, market sources said.

However, this could not be confirmed by company officials.

The producer resumed acetic acid production at its 450,000 tonne/year plant in Wujing, Shanghai, during the week ended 20 April after shutting it for a month-long turnaround on 14 March, sources close to the company said.

The company was running its 250,000 tonne/year acetic acid plant at the same site at 100% of capacity during the turnaround.

Other key acetic acid producers in China include Celanese, BP, Jiangsu Sopo, Henan Shunda, Yankuang Cathay Coal Chemicals, Hebei Yingdu Gasification and the Shandong Hualu-Hengsheng Group.
