SINGAPORE (ICIS)--JX Nippon Oil & Energy’s 127,000 bbl/day Marifu refinery in Japan remains shut down following a power outage on 18 April, a company source said on Wednesday.
The source at the Japan-headquartered company was unable to say when the Marifu refinery will resume operations.
This is the second such power outage to hit the facility. Previously, the refinery was shut down on 26 March following a loss of electrical power. The plant was then restarted on 4 April.
The refinery was also shut down from 4 February to 9 March for scheduled maintenance.
Units at the Marifu refinery include a 127,000 bbl/day crude distillation unit, two vacuum distillation units with a combined capacity of 75,000 bbl/day and a 28,000 bbl/day fluid catalytic cracker.
The site also includes two delayed cokers with a combined capacity of 22,000 bbl/day and a 24,000 bbl/day naphtha reformer.
