SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Datang International Power Generation is running its 460,000 tonne/year methanol-to-propylene (MTP) unit at Duolun in Inner Mongolia at 50% of capacity after restarting it on 21 April, a company source said on Thursday.
This is the usual operating capacity of the MTP unit, the source said.
The unit was shut for maintenance on 10 April, along with a 460,000 tonne/year polypropylene (PP) unit which is located at the same site, the source said.
Datang International conducted a trial run at the PP unit on 23 April, according to the source.
The restart at the PP plant will depend on the results of the trial, the source added, without providing an exact date.
In addition, Datang International is running its upstream 1.68m tonne/year methanol plant which is located at the same site at 50-60% of capacity, the source said.
This is the usual operating capacity of the methanol plant, the source added.
