SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shenyang Paraffin Chemical has started selling 200 tonnes/day of propylene to the domestic market after restarting its catalytic pyrolysis process unit in Shenyang, Liaoning province, on 23 April, a company source said on Thursday.

The unit was shut down in late February because of some technical issues, the source said without providing details.

The source added that the unit can produce 87,600 tonnes/year of propylene but did not specify the current run rate of the unit.

The company runs a fluid catalytic cracker (FCC) unit at the same site which can produce another 58,400 tonnes/year of propylene and this unit is running “normally”, the source added without specifying the FCC unit’s operating rate.
