SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Neste Oil said on Thursday it has “recently supplied” the first batch of its NExBTL renewable diesel from the firm’s Porvoo refinery in Finland to the US market.
The Finnish company did not elaborate on the details of its supply deal in the US.
"In addition to the US, we have also expanded our customer base in Europe as well, opening up new opportunities for NExBTL sales as we go forward," said Matti Lehmus, Neste Oil's executive vice president of its oil products and renewables unit.
The refiner sold 305,000 tonnes of NExBTL renewable diesel to “several dozens of customers in over ten countries” in the first quarter of the year, the company said without elaborating further.
Neste Oil’s NExBTL technology is currently used to produce renewable fuel from vegetable oil or waste fat products.
