SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan Prosperity Chemical Corp (TPCC) has pushed back the start-up schedule of a maleic anhydride (MA) and a butanediol (BDO) plants in Kaohsiung to 2013 from the end of this year on licensing issues, a company source said on Friday.

This is the third time that the start-up schedule for the 40,000 tonne/year MA plant and 30,000 tonne/year BDO plant was pushed back.

TPCC was unable to obtain governmental approvals for the relocation process, said the source, adding that start-up schedule could be delayed until the end of the third quarter of 2013.

TPCC bought the two plants from TCC Chemical Corp two years ago and began the process of relocating them to Kaohsiung, from the Chiang Ping Industrial Zone.

The company has an existing 40,000 tonne/year MA plant in Kaohsiung.
