China’s Tianjin Bohai Chemical restarts oxo- alcohols plant in May

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Tianjin Bohai Chemical plans to restart its 250,000 tonne/year oxo- alcohols facility in May after completing maintenance at the unit, a company source said on Friday.

The plant was taken off line on 13 April, the source said

The oxo-alcohols facility can produce 140,000 tonne/year of 2-ethylhexanol (2-EH); 85,000 tonne/year of n-butanol (NBA), and; 25,000 tonne/year of isobutanol (IBA), according to the source.

Spot prices of 2-EH in east China were assessed at yuan (CNY) 12,500-12,600/tonne ($1,984-2,000/tonne) EXW (ex-works) on 26 April, according to Chemease, an ICIS service in China.

Prices of NBA and IBA in east China market were assessed at CNY11,050-11,100/tonne EXW and CNY9,750-9,800/tonne EXW, respectively, on the same day, data from Chemease showed.
