SINGAPORE (ICIS)--PTT has signed a deal with Malaysia’s PETRONAS Chemicals Marketing on imports of 24,000 tonnes of methanol, worth around baht (Bt) 300m ($9.7m), the Thai oil and gas firm said on Monday.
Deliveries began in February 2012 and will continue until January 2013, PTT said in a statement, without elaborating further.
PTT will use the imported methanol to extend its domestic commercial utilisation in the solvent industry and in methyl ester, which is the main raw material for biodiesel production by PTT Group, the Thai group said.
