HOUSTON (ICIS)--Oxea’s US butyl acetate (butac) and butanol plant in Texas went down recently for maintenance that should last through 20 May, a source at the company said on Monday.
The turnaround at the Bay City plant began on 20 April and should last approximately 30 days, the source said.
The first word of the maintenance came in late February.
Oxea’s butac plant has a capacity of 80,000 tonnes/year, according to ICIS plants and projects. The butanol capacity is 230,000 tonnes/year.
Major US producers of butyl acetate include Oxea, Dow Chemical and Eastman Chemical.
