HOUSTON (ICIS)--The contract price of benchmark US Tampa ammonia for all May shipments increased 16% from April, a source close to the negotiations said on Monday.
The settlement between Yara and its customers brings the contract to $545/tonne (€414/tonne) CFR (cost and freight), up $75/tonne from the $470/tonne April price.
The increase for April is reflective of higher global market prices for ammonia seen over the past four weeks.
Market traders said that recent sales out of Yuzhny, Ukraine, at $480/tonne FOB (free on board) suggest that the Tampa price for ammonia will be likely to increase moderately in May.
