ORLANDO, Florida (ICIS)--A commercial-scale bio-based succinic acid facility being built in Italy will be online by the end of 2012, an official at Dutch specialty chemical producer DSM said on Monday.
“We expect to have this plant up and running with commercial-grade product to customers at the end of the year,” said James Iademarco, DSM’s business director for bio-based chemicals and fuels.
The 10,000 tonne/year facility is being built at the Cassano Spinola site of French company Roquette, which is DSM’s partner on the project.
Iademarco was speaking at the World Congress of Industrial Biotechnology and Bioprocessing, which is being held in Orlando, Florida on 29 April-2 May.
