LONDON (ICIS)--NYMEX light sweet crude futures gained more than $1.00/bbl on Tuesday to take the front month June contract above $106.00/bbl on the back of better than expected US manufacturing data.
By 14:35 GMT, June NYMEX crude had hit a high of $106.08/bbl, a gain of $1.21/bbl from the Monday close of $104.87/bbl, before easing back to around $105.80/bbl.
At the same time, June Brent crude on ICE Futures was trading around $119.60/bbl, having hit a high of $119.94/bbl, a gain of 47 cents/bbl from the previous close of $119.47/bbl.
