HOUSTON (ICIS)--US first-quarter propylene production totalled 7.10bn lb (3.22m tonnes), an 8.5% drop from 7.76bn lb one year earlier, data from the American Fuel and Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) showed on Tuesday.
Propylene output in the first quarter was also down by 8.2% from 7.74bn lb in the fourth quarter of 2011, the group said.
The figures include production of refinery-sourced and co-product propylene.
US propylene inventories in the first quarter stood at 1.62bn lb, rising by 54.3% from 1.05bn lb one year earlier.
AFPM's quarterly data is based on voluntary reports.
