SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Panzhihua TaiHai Technology restarted its 40,000 tonne/year rutile-grade titanium dioxide (TiO2) unit in Sichuan province on 2 May and is running the unit at 100% of capacity, a company source said on Wednesday.

Taihai shut the unit on 18 April for maintenance because of poor demand from the downstream coating, paints and plastics sectors, according to the source.

Downstream demand has not recovered so far, the source added.
