HOUSTON (ICIS)--US butadiene (BD) production in March totalled 218m lb (98,883 tonnes), a 24% drop from 285m lb produced in the same month in 2011, consulting firm Jacobs Consultancy said on Wednesday.
BD production in March also fell 1.3% by volume compared with 221m lb produced in February, the group said in its monthly Hodson report.
Measured on a daily rate, March BD production was down by a much larger 7.6% compared with February.
US crackers operated at 86.5% of capacity in March. The figure is down from 89.3% in February and 94.3 % in March 2011, the report showed.
