SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Daqing Petrochemical shut its 80,000 tonne/year acrylonitrile (ACN) plant and 65,000 tonne/year acrylic fibre (AF) plant on 2 May for 15 days of scheduled maintenance, a company source said on Thursday.

The plants are located at Daqing in Heilongjiang province.

The shutdown of the ACN plant will not have any impact on the market because the output is used by the downstream AF plant, a market player said.

The AF plant shutdown will relieve the high inventory levels in the market and is not expected to have any impact on the price of the product, some market players said.

Daqing Petrochemical is a subsidiary of PetroChina.
