China's Henan Green Energy eyes new LNG plants in Shaanxi, Ningxia

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Henan Green Energy Holding Group plans to build two liquefied natural gas (LNG) plants at Shaanxi and Ningxia provinces in northwestern China due for start-up late next year, a company source said on Thursday.

In Shaanxi, the company will build a 2m cubic metre (cbm)/day LNG plant at Yulin, as phase two of its existing 1m cbm/day LNG project at the site, according to the source.

In Ningxia, it is planning a 1.3m cbm/day LNG plant at Yanchi, which is just 20km away from the Yulin project, the source said.

Feedstock gas for both projects will be supplied by PetroChina’s Changqing Oilfield, the source said.

Henan Green Energy is also doing a preliminary study on building a new LNG project at Ordos in Inner Mongolia, with the feedstock gas also to be derived from Changqing Oilfield, the company source said.
