US Enterprise starts projects to increase propane exports

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Enterprise Products Partners has started a debottlenecking project at its propane export facility in Houston, Texas, the US-based midstream services company said on Thursday.

The project will increase current propane export capacity by an additional 100,000 bbl/month.

Enterprise said the project is necessary because of the current increased demand for propane from international markets.

The company set a record for propane exports in April, sending 3.9m bbl from its terminal on the Houston Ship Channel.

Enterprise has also started expanding its natural gas liquids refrigeration export facility to handle a capacity of 7.5m bbl/month of propane.

The project is ahead of schedule and should be complete by the fourth quarter, the company said.
