HOUSTON (ICIS)--Initial US April styrene contracts settled at a rollover to a 1 cent/lb ($22/tonne, €17/tonne) drop from March, on the back of a lower April benzene contract, trade participants said on Thursday.
The decline was in line with market expectations, as producers did not announce any price increases for April contracts.
March styrene contracts were at 71-75 cents/lb.
Additional April styrene contract settlements are expected to emerge in the week ending 11 May.
Major North American styrene producers include Americas Styrenics, Styrolution, LyondellBasell, Total and Westlake Chemical.
