SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Formosa Petrochemical Corp (FPCC) has settled its April butadiene (BD) contract at $2,979/tonne (€2,264/tonne), down by $101/tonne from the previous month, a company source said on Friday.

Its March BD contract was settled at $3,080/tonne pipeline delivered (DEL).

Spot BD prices have been under downward pressure from weak demand as several downstream synthetic rubber plants in Asia have either been shut for maintenance or are operating at reduced rates.

BD spot prices were at $2,750-2,800/tonne CFR (cost & freight) northeast (NE) Asia in the week ended 27 April, down by $450/tonne from the week ended 20 April, according to ICIS.
