SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Baosteel Group is planning to restart its 450,000 tonne/year coal tar deep processing unit at Meishan in Nanjing on 10 May, a company source said on Friday.

The unit was shut on 20 April this year for annual maintenance, according to the source.

Baosteel Group on 3 May shut its 300,000 tonne/year coal tar unit at Baoshan in Shanghai for annual maintenance, the source said.

The company plans to restart the Baoshan unit on 23 May, according to the source.

“The shutdowns will not impact our sales because we [have] stored ample inventory before the maintenance,” the source added.
