EVENING SNAPSHOT - Asia Markets Summary

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Here is Friday’s end-of-day Asia oil and chemical markets summary.

CRUDE: June WTI $101.47/bbl, down $1.07/bbl; June BRENT $115.04/bbl, down $1.04/bbl
Crude futures fell sharply in afternoon trade amid a stronger US dollar and ahead of the release of key US employment data later in the day.

NAPHTHA: $965.00-966.00/tonne CFR Japan, down $11.50-13.50/tonne
Marubeni paid $11.50/tonne in swap rate fee for a second-half June/second-half July swap cargo from Glencore.

BENZENE: $1,200-1,205/tonne FOB Korea, steady
Prices were unchanged although trading picked up pace in the afternoon. Two deals for June loading were heard concluded at $1,202-1,205/tonne FOB Korea. Three cargoes for July loading were also heard traded at $1,188/tonne, $1,190/tonne and $1,191/tonne FOB Korea.

TOLUENE: $1,200-1,215/tonne FOB Korea, down $5 at the low end
Bids for June loading were at $1,200-1,213/tonne FOB Korea. Offers for July loading at $1,210-1,214/tonne FOB Korea met bids at $1,200-1,205/tonne FOB Korea.

ETHYLENE: $1,270-1,310/tonne CFR NE Asia, stable
No deals were done while buying ideas were generally unchanged at below $1,300/tonne CFR NE Asia for first-half June arrival.

PROPYLENE: $1,410-1,430 /tonne CFR NE Asia, down $10/tonne
Three spot cargoes of northeast and southeast Asia origin changed hands at $1,410-1,420/tonne CFR China for arrival from the end of May to first-half June.
