EU MAY ECH ROLLS OVER ON RAW MATERIALS

European epichlorohydrin (ECH) May contract prices rolled over at €1,675-1,700/tonne ($2,200-2,236/tonne) FD (free delivered) NWE (northwest Europe). Market participants cited declining feedstock costs.

ASIA SPOT PHENOL UP ON TIGHT SUPPLY

Spot phenol prices in Asia remained on an uptrend as of April 30, boosted by tightened supply and escalating domestic prices in China. Spot prices rose by $25/tonne (€19/tonne) from mid-April levels to $1,520-1,540/tonne CFR (cost and freight) China on 27 April, according to ICIS data.

ASAHI KASEI CUTS ITS MAY ACN OFFER

Japan's Asahi Kasei has reduced its May acrylonitrile (ACN) contract nomination by $50/tonne (€38/tonne) from April levels, market sources said on April 30. Its May Far East Contract Price (FECP) nomination is $2,350/tonne CFR (cost & freight) Asia, compared with $2,400/tonne CFR Asia for April.

EU APRIL PA UP BY €50/TONNE

European liquid and solid phthalic anhydride (PA) April contract prices have risen by €50/tonne after the orthoxylene (OX) contract settlement last week. Liquid PA April contracts settled at €1,475-1,505/tonne ($1,940-1,980/tonne) FD (free delivered) NWE (northwest Europe). Solid contracts settled at €1,410-1,480/tonne FD NWE.

EU Q2 MMA CONTRACT UP ON FEEDSTOCK

Second-quarter European methyl methacrylate (MMA) prices are up from the first quarter because of raw material costs and improved demand. ICIS assessed the range at €1,850-1,890/tonne ($2,434-2,487/tonne) on a free delivered (FD) northwest Europe (NWE) basis.
