TOKYO (ICIS)--Japan’s Marubeni Corp posted on Monday a 24% increase in its full-year net profit in the chemicals segment to yen (Y) 7.54bn ($94.4m) from Y6.07bn a year earlier on the back of gross trading profit in the segment.
Operating profit in the chemicals segment for the full year to 31 March 2012 rose 16% to Y5.99bn from Y5.16bn year on year, while gross operating profit was up 9.8% to Y26.5bn from Y24.1bn, the trading firm said in a statement.
Marubeni’s full-year net profit increased 26% to Y172.1bn from Y136.5bn the previous year, while operating profit was up 7.9% to Y157.3bn from Y145.8bn.
