SINGAPORE (ICIS)--State-run Ethylene Malaysia Sdn Bhd (EMSB) shut its 400,000 tonne/year ethane cracker at Kerteh in Terengganu as scheduled in early May for maintenance, said a source close to the company on Tuesday.
The exact shutdown date of the cracker was not specified, but the source said the plant is expected to be off line for two to three weeks.
EMSB is a joint venture between Malaysia's state-owned PETRONAS, Japan's Idemitsu Kosan and UK-based petrochemicals major BP.
