CAMPINAS, Brazil (ICIS)--First-quarter sales of Brazilian fertilizers increased by 7% year on year, a Brazilian trade group said on Tuesday.
Sales increased to 5.30m tonnes from 4.96m tonnes, according to fertilizer trade group Associacao Nacional para Difusao de Adubos (Anda).
Domestic production in the first quarter increased by 1.7%, to 2.199m tonnes from 2.162m tonnes in the first quarter of 2011, Anda said.
Intermediate fertilizer imports in the first quarter of 2012 fell by 27.7% to 3m tonnes from 4.15m of tonnes in the first quarter of 2011.
