China’s Zhenhai Taida Chemical shuts PA plant on equipment fault

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Zhenhai Taida Chemical shut its 60,000 tonne/year phthalic anhydride (PA) plant at Ningbo in Zhejiang province on 8 May because of equipment failure at the facility, a company source said on Wednesday.

Restart of the plant will depend on the duration of repairs, the source added.

“The shutdown will reduce PA supply in the domestic market,” an industry source in east China said.

Though near-term impact was unlikely to happen, the source added.

Zhenhai Taida Chemical is a PA manufacturer based in Zhejiang province in east China.
