TOKYO (ICIS)--Japanese chemical producer Ube Industries reported on Thursday a 33% increase in its year-to-March 2012 net profit to yen (Y) 23.0bn ($288m), partly on improved performance of its chemicals and plastics segment.
Its operating profit for the fiscal year rose 3.7% to Y46.0bn, while net sales rose 3.7% to Y638.7bn from Y616.1bn, the company said in a statement.
In the chemicals and plastics segment, full-year operating profit rose 15% to Y23.0bn, while net sales increased 13% to Y231.0bn, Ube Industries said.($1 = Y80)
