SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s Maruzen Petrochemical shut its 115,000 tonne/year ethylene glycol (EG) unit at Ichihara, Chiba prefecture, on 9 May for turnaround, a company source said on Thursday.

The turnaround will last one month, the source said.

Maruzen Petrochemical has enough stocks to cover its customers’ requirement during the plant’s shutdown, the source said.

Maruzen Petrochemical also has an 82,000 tonne/year EG plant at Yokkaichi in Mie prefecture that was shut for turnaround on 11 March-14 April, the source said.
