HOUSTON (ICIS)--US n-butanol exports in March increased by 2% from February, according to data released by the US International Trade Commission (ITC) on Thursday.
US butanol exports rose to 21,678 tonnes in March from 21,180 tonnes in February.
Exports rose in March mainly because of increased product sent to Belgium.
March exports decreased, however, from 24,146 tonnes in the same month of 2011.
Belgium at 6,816 tonnes was the major destination for butanol exports, followed by China at 6,667 tonnes, Singapore at 2,935 tonnes and Mexico at 2,344 tonnes.
Other destinations included South Korea, Brazil, United Arab Emirates, Canada, India and Peru.
