HOUSTON (ICIS)--US butyl acetate (butac) exports in March dropped by 33% year on year from a falloff in shipments to Latin America and India, according to data released on Thursday by the US International Trade Commission (ITC).
March butac exports fell to 3,367 tonnes from 5,060 in the same month of 2011.
In the first three months this year, butac exports increased 17%, largely on increased shipments to India in January and February, and to France.
Major US butac producers include Dow Chemical, Eastman Chemical and Oxea Group.
