BRISBANE (ICIS)--Japan’s Mitsui Chemicals is planning to shutdown its 40,000 tonne/year methyl methacrylate (MMA) plant at Sakai in Osaka in end June for scheduled maintenance, a company source said on Friday.

The plant will be shut from end June to end July for around a month, he added.

MMA is used to produce polymethyl MMA (PMMA) polymer, cast sheets and acrylic resins for coatings and emulsions.
