SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Sinopec Maoming Petrochemical has decided to delay the restart of its 120,000 tonne/year low-density polyethylene (LDPE) line to 15 May because of prevailing weak demand, a company source said on Friday.

The LDPE plant was shut down on 13 April for a 15-day turnaround.

The extended shutdown is estimated to translate to 12,000 tonnes of production losses, the source said.
