SINGAPORE (ICIS) -- Thai Fatty Alcohols is planning to restart its 100,000 tonnes/year fatty alcohols unit at Rayong in ?xml:namespace>
The producer had scheduled to restart the unit in late May but the official did not explain the delay.
The plant has a nameplate capacity of 100,000 tonnes/year of fatty alcohols, 200,000 tonnes/year of methyl ester and 30,000 tonnes/year of glycerine.
Thai Fatty Alcohols is owned by Thai Oleochemicals, a subsidiary of PTT Chemical.
Fatty alcohols originate from vegetable oil and are traditionally used in the personal care, cosmetics and detergent industries. They are also used in industrial applications including alcohol ethoxylates (AEO), which have a variety of uses in the lubricant and cleaning industries.
