LONDON (ICIS)--PKN Orlen is currently building inventories of phenol and acetone ahead of planned maintenance at its facility in Plock, Poland, a company source said on Wednesday.
PKN will halt phenol and acetone production for a scheduled turnaround from 26 June and is due to restart on 1 August.
“We will run at full capacity until the end of June. We will shut on 26 June and will hopefully be back on-stream on 1 August,” the source said.
“Demand is not that healthy, but we are mainly building our stocks for our 2012 maintenance.”
PKN Orlen has the capacity to produce approximately 52,000 tonnes/year of phenol and 30,000 tonnes/year of acetone at Plock.
