US to impose ADD on photovoltaic products from China

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--The US Commerce Department has announced anti-dumping duties (ADDs) on photovoltaic (PV) products from China, ranging from 31.14% to 249.96%, according to a report from Chinese state-owned Xinhua news agency on Friday.

The announcement is only preliminary and final ADD rates will be determined in October, the report said.

It is not known when the ADDs will come into effect, but an industry source said it is likely to be from November this year.

On 20 March, the US government announced preliminary anti-subsidy duties of 2.90-4.73% for China-made photovoltaic products.

The US imported PV cells and panes from China worth a total of $2.8bn (€2.2bn) in 2011, according to statistics from the China Silicon Industry Association.
