SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Minghui Chemical Fiber Science and Technology Share is planning to start trial runs at its 200,000 tonne/year polyester line at Taicang in Jiangsu province late this month, a company source said on Friday.

The line will be fed purified terephthalic acid (PTA) and monoethylene glycol (MEG) feedstocks on 24 May, and should be able to produce polyester on 28 May, the source said.

The line is expected to mainly produce pre-oriented yarn (POY), 70% of which will be for captive use, the source said.

The company plans to run the line at full capacity upon a successful start-up, the source said.
