“Both the No 1 and No 2 units will be mechanically complete by July, but they are not able to receive sufficient amounts of feedstock paraxylene to begin trial runs,” the source said.
The company has 16 chemical tanks at Dalian that are capable of storing up to 600,000 tonnes of feedstock PX.
Hengli Petrochemical's No 2 PTA unit at the site also has a 2.2m tonne/year capacity. Hengli Petrochemicals is targeting to start up the No 2 PTA unit two months after the No 1 unit achieves commercial production, the source said.
