China’s Tianzhu Fengrui Mining to build calcium carbide plant

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Tianzhu Fengrui Mining plans to build a 600,000 tonne/year calcium carbide plant at Tianzhu county in Gansu province, a local government source said on Friday.

The yuan (CNY) 810.6m ($128.3m) plant will be built in three phases and the producer expects to achieve the targeted 600,000 tonne/year capacity at the plant by the end of 2014, the source said.

A ground-breaking ceremony for the plant was held on 31 March, according to the source.

The company cannot be reached at the moment for comment.
