SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shandong Lushenfa Chemical is planning to bring on stream a 40,000 tonne/year methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE) unit at Dongying in Shandong province in November 2012, a company source said on Friday.

The company will purchase mixed C4 feedstock for the MTBE unit from spot markets in China and abroad, and sell its MTBE output in the Shandong market, according to the source.

The company will use the etherified C4 by-products from the unit for its 200,000 tonne/year aromatization unit at the same site, the source added.
