China’s Jiangxi Liuguo Chemical shuts DAP plant on weak demand

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Jiangxi Liuguo Chemical has shut its 300,000 tonne/year diammonium phosphate (DAP) plant at Jiangxi province in east China on 18 May because of weak demand, a company source said on Monday.

“The turnaround at the plant will last around 10 days because of weak demand in the domestic market,” the source said.

The producer is expected to conclude some export contracts during the four-month low export tax window that begins on 1 June, according to the source.

The shutdown will have a limited impact on China’s DAP spot market as the plant’s capacity is small, the source added.

The company is a holding subsidiary of Anhui Liuguo Chemical, which mainly produces fertilizer products.
