HOUSTON (ICIS)--US-based Phillips 66’s E-Gas technology will be used for the planned gasification plants of Reliance Industries, the company said on Monday.
In addition to licensing the technology, Phillips 66 will provide process engineering design and technical support for the gasification technology process, the company said.
Reliance’s Jamnagar site is the world’s largest refining complex, with a capacity of 1.3m bbl/day.
“The planned gasification plants at Jamnagar will be among the largest in the world and will process petroleum coke and coal into synthesis gas utilising the E-Gas technology,” Phillips 66 said. “The synthesis gas will be used as feedstock for a new chemical complex and will fuel the refinery's existing gas turbine power generation units.”
