HOUSTON (ICIS)--US Georgia Gulf and bio-plasticiser producer Segetis plan to collaborate to develop bio-based flexible polyvinyl chloride (PVC), Georgia Gulf said on Monday.
The collaboration combines Segetis’ proprietary technology with Georgia Gulf’s vinyl compounding expertise, Georgia Gulf said.
Segetis’ bio-based plasticisers “are compatible across a wide loading range, are highly efficient with excellent permanence and bring faster processing speeds and elevated temperature performance,” Georgia Gulf said.
“Coupled with their ability to be 100% bio-based, all Segetis plasticisers bring low vapour pressure and low extractables, and they are broadly miscible with many resin families.”
