SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Saudi Eastern Petrochemical Company (SHARQ) is ramping up both its linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) plants in ?xml:namespace>
The two LLDPE facilities, with a combined nameplate capacity of 750,000 tonnes/year, were restarted on 19 July after a week-long turnaround, he said.
However, the company’s two high density PE (HDPE) units, each with a nameplate capacity of 400,000 tonnes/year, were running at full capacity during the shutdown of LLDPE plants, he added.
SHARQ is a joint venture between Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) and Saudi Petrochemical Development Company (SPDC), a consortium of Japanese companies led by the Mitsubishi Corporation.
