Japan’s Zeon to shut rubber plants for two months from mid-Sept

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s Zeon Corp will shut down all its synthetic rubber plants for two months from mid-September, a company source said on Thursday.

The company operates a 110,000 tonne/year styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) plant, a 65,000 tonne/year butadiene rubber (BR) plant and a 60,000 tonne/year nitrile rubber (NBR) plant at Yamaguchi in western Japan.

“We will shut down the SBR, BR and NBR plants from mid-September to mid-November for annual maintenance,” the source said.
