SINGAPORE (ICIS)--State-run Ethylene Malaysia Sdn Bhd (EMSB) plans to restart its 400,000 tonne/year ethane cracker at Kerteh in Terengganu on 25-26 May following a turnaround that started early this month, a source close to the company said on Friday.

“The cracker should restart today or tomorrow [Saturday],” the source said.

The source did not say specifically when the cracker was taken off line for scheduled maintenance.

EMSB is a joint venture between Malaysia's state-owned PETRONAS, Japan's Idemitsu Kosan and UK-based petrochemicals major BP.
