China's April ethylene output down 6.4% year on year

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s posted an ethylene output of 1.2m tonnes in April, a decline of 6.4% year on year, while its naphtha output decreased by 1.1% to 2.3m tonnes, data from China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation showed on Friday.

Crude output in April dipped by 0.4% year on year to 16.9m tonnes, while total output in the first four months of the year rose by 3.2% to 71m tonnes, according to the figure.

Naphtha output for the four months to April increased by 1.6% year on year to 9.4m tonnes.

Output of polyethylene (PE) fell by 8.2% year on year to 810,000 tonnes in April, while that for polypropylene (PP) was up 9.2% to 853,000 tonnes.
