China Resources runs new PET bottle chip unit at 70% ops

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China Resources is running its new 300,000 tonne/year polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottle chip line at Changzhou at 70% capacity, a company source said on Friday.

The company has achieved on-spec production at the line, which was started up on 18 May, the source said.

China Resources plans to start up another 300,000 tonne/year PET line in Guangzhou on 10 June.

The company started a 300,000 tonne/year PET unit at the same site on 19 April, which was running at around 90% capacity, the source added.

The company’s 400,000 tonne/year PET line in Changzhou is operating at full capacity, the source said.

After all its new plants start up China Resources will become the biggest PET bottle chip producer in the country with a 1.3m tonne/year nameplate capacity.
