China’s CNPC shuts EPDM unit on 28 May for 30-day maintenance

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) shut down its 20,000 tonne/year ethylene-propylene-diene monomer (EPDM) unit on Monday, a day earlier than the 29 May schedule, a source close to the company said.

The shutdown will last 30 days, the source said.

CNPC is offering EPDM at yuan (CNY) 38,700/tonne ($6,094/tonne) on 28 May, the source said.

The company is the sole EPDM producer in China.
